I just completed a commissioned comic: an adaptation of "She Walks in Beauty" by Lord Byron. I will be debuting the original art, and exhibiting comics and illustrations of beautiful women, for the Capital Hill Art Walk on Feb 9, 2012, at the People's Republic of Koffee, 1718 12th Ave in Seattle. The opening happens from 6 until 10pm, with an open mic at 8pm and jazz at 9pm.

The art will be up through the month of February, and will be for sale.
The Lord Byron adaptation will appear later this year in an anthology called "The Graphic Canon."

FRESCAZIZIS by Melinda Gebbie

FRESCAZIZIS
by Melinda Gebbie
32pp / BW / 7 x 10
$3.00
heavy read
beautiful drawing
agressive feminism
the drawing is fresh and verbally inconsistent
it doesn't get bogged down by knowledge
the drawing searches beside the subject
frank about sex
respectful about sex and its ambiguities
even when irreverent and on the attack
ecstatic and curious
which is generally lacking in comics
rapturous apocalyptic revelation
1977

INNER CITY ROMANCE #1 by Guy Colwell

INNER CITY ROMANCE #1
by Guy Colwell
36pp / BW / 7 x 10
$5.00
one of my all time favorite underground comix
super-under-appreciated
which could have something to do with how solid and
challengingly uncomfortable and uncompromising the story is
colwell serves a story with cold moral confidence
racially charged and sexually explicit
the ending will...

collected sketchbooks from yer favorite ink dippers circa 1973
the bill griffith stuff is awesome and very different from his comix
the spiegelman stuff is silly and expressionist (i prefer his sketches to his comix)
spain's sketchbook work is legendary and very anthropological, similar to crumb and collier
justin green is the master and his sketches will make you think about his work in new ways
